New name. Same good people, same great work.
In 2005, Meg Urie Rab opened SmallPond Studio, a graphic design studio in a converted shed in historic downtown Truckee, CA. Shortly after, Shannon Reilly, a talented graphic artist and illustrator, walked into the shed and was hired on the spot. Recognizing the need to round out their service offerings, they hired Renee Deinken to head up the web development side of things. The three became fast friends and built a successful business based on providing superior customer service and inspired graphic design. Over the years, the company expanded and contracted due to economic and personal reasons, but the core team remained.
And now, three moves, two babies, one recession, many wonderful employees, hundreds of fabulous clients, and eight trips to Burning Man later, SmallPond studio has evolved into POND Collective – a non-traditional graphic design and web development agency that remains focused on creating beautiful, effective brands that help our clients grow. In 2013 SmallPond Studio was named Small Business of the Year by the Truckee Chamber of Commerce, and we can’t think of a higher honor. We just want to be good people, doing good work.
In the spring of 2014, we closed our SmallPond Studio office and went virtual, a move that allows us to more easily offer our services to clients across Northern California and Nevada. We’ve expanded down into the foothills of the Gold Country and Sacramento, with P O N D offices in Grass Valley, Auburn, and our hometown of Truckee. We feel blessed to live in this beautiful area of the world and are committed to giving back generously to the communities in which we work.
